3 for 3! Kill Cliff FC Fighters Tear It UP! Decisions, Decisions…

The big story at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City last week was Leon Edwards’ last minute, unbelievable head-kick knockout over Kamaru Usman in a fight he clearly looked to be losing to snap Usman’s 15-match win streak and take the welterweight title. But…

 KCFC 3 FOR 3

But, here at Kill Cliff FC, the big news was our own fighters went 2-0 in the same promotion. And another took a victory in Combate Global.

  • Kill Cliff FC’s Ange Loosa (9-3, 1-1 UFC) wore out A.J. Fletcher in the welterweight tilt, winning by decision (9-2, 0-2 UFC) in Utah’s rarified air. From ESPN: “Loosa had spent much of that middle round landing right hand after right hand to the face of Fletcher, who was bloodied and wobbly by the middle of the five minutes.” That led to a wrestling match in the final round, which Loosa took advantage of to win his first UFC fight (of two).
  • Kill Cliff FC’s Jared Gordon (19-5, 7-4 UFC) decisioned Leonardo Santos (18-7-1, 7-3-1 UFC) in the lightweight bout. From ESPN: “Gordon completely dominated Santos in a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) victory, one of the most one-sided of Gordon's career. Gordon's cardio held the whole way and he was able to pepper Santos with combinations in every round, including clear and consistent attention paid to body shots.”

MEANWHILE, IN MIAMI

Kill Cliff FC’s Landy “The Lone Star Kid” Ward was the third KCFC fighter to win by decision last weekend, taking on Carlos Rivera in the Combate Global featherweight match. Landy is 6-1-0 as a pro and is moving up in his division’s rankings.
